Monthly HSS Assemblies

Monthly HSS Assemblies, organized by the HSS Assembly Speaker in conjunction with the Internal Affairs Commissioner, are a public forum for BHSc students to express their views on the happenings of the society. During Assembly meetings, any member of the society may speak, move or second motions, and voice their concerns.

In these public meetings, members of the HSS Council report on their activities and discuss matters pertinent to the society and student body. In some meetings, invited guest speakers provide perspectives on information relevant to students. It is during Assembly meetings that substantive motions, including the passing of budgets and constitutional amendments, are voted on and passed. Both elected executives and representatives are empowered to vote at Assembly meetings.

Previous Assemblies

Following each meeting, the volunteer Assembly Scribe works to publish minutes accessible to all students. This ensures transparency as well as student involvement in the HSS’ internal activities.

Assembly agendas and minutes, as well as dates and times for upcoming assemblies, can be viewed below.
